Live Improvised Eurorack – Temporal Narcosis

Temporal Narcosis was performed live for Strange Stage on 6.22.18 at Muchmore’s in Brooklyn, NY. Video synthesis created and manipulated by Projectro.

This was the first time I used the Winter Modular Eloquencer in a live setting.  It was used simply, with only two patterns.  However, the patterns were polymetric with lengths divisible by three offering a bit of variance. Some judicious use of gate and pitch randomness provided further pattern variation.

Signal Expo Berlin 2018 Eurorack Performance

Signal Expo Berlin 2018 is a music technology and business educational exhibition.  To promote the event, I performed this eurorack patch. I was experimenting with a more restricted version of the krell patch for the bass.  I then built the rest of the patch around the bass.  Finally I recorded in one take with no post mixing or processing.

You can find out more about the event here https://www.facebook.com/SignalExpoBerlin and you can see more videos on their YouTube Channel

exocomp #8 – velocity experiments with eurorack

This patch uses a slow tempo and heavy distortion but with some feel.   Recently I’ve been pushing myself to incorporate more dynamic range. So I acquired the Winter Modular Eloquencer.  The Eloquencer’s large amount of CV outs offer opportunity for eurorack velocity experiments.  While the CV values are displayed in note values, the individual is not limited to using that voltage for pitch.  Modules that have amplitude CV control, like a VCA or drum module, can use this voltage to control the volume. Sequencing the CV steps with  different values can yield remarkably more rhythmic and musical pieces.

Live Eurorack Modular Session – Exocomp #6

Slow and heavy session with quite a bit of trippy blips. No post processing, all modular.

Some simple patch notes:

* Kick = SSF Entity BDS – Snazzy FX HI Gain – Echophon – Three Sisters feedback loop
* Snare = SSF Entity Percussion – Snazzy FX HI Gain – Morphagene in Time Lag Accumulation mode – Erbe-Verb
* Hats = DPO – Sapèl Noise – Three Sisters hi pass
* Bass pad = Synth Tech E352 – Erbe-Verb
* Blips snd crackles = Benjolin

Eurorack Modular Performance System – Exocomp #5

For this short session I was testing out the functionality of Argos Bleak, an impressive quantizer from Industrial Music Electronics.

Eurorack Modular Performance System – Exocomp #2

Eurorack Modular Performance System Test.

In this video I put Exocomp, a new configuration of my eurorack modular performance system, through further tests.  This system was created through multiple reconfigurations of Tesseract, my modular drum machine.

Music is Dead

Music is Dead was made using my eurorack modular studio case.  I had the most fun making the twangy, almost guitar like, noise. For that I used all Ieaskul F. Mobenthey modules to get large timbral and dynamic versatility.  Every sound was synthesized with modular except the pad for which I used the Dreadbox Abyss.
